Dog Poop Bag Options and Housetraining

I’m thinking outside the usual poop bag in today’s blog post. We dog owners need a way to pick up the poop and the more economical, the better! Don’t get me started about people who walk away from the piles their dogs leave. When they do, they can be leaving behind a host of communicable parasites and disease in that pile. Be responsible. Pick up the poop and dispose of it.

I’m a Costco shopper and found on the Costco Business Center site, smaller sized t-shirt bags. These are very handy for picking up the poop, especially if you have larger dogs, which I do. But you could use them for smaller dogs as well. The box includes a massive 1600 nicely layered bags, and the price lends itself to about 2 to 3 cents per bag. Not bad! Being Costco links change as much as product location in-store, you would need to visit the site and do a search for “thank you bags.” Look for the box of 1600. Currently, they are called “Duro Bag, Thank You Plas-T-Sak, 1600 ct.” I’d once bought these in my local store, but I hadn’t seen them there lately. Click here to find the “poop bags” on their business site. They don’t sell them on their usual site.

Some places offer a smaller bag that will work for dog poop pick-up, but check if this size would work for you. It’s an inch less wide than regular sized, and a couple inches less in height. They run about 3 cents a bag. They come in different colors, but the darker the bag, the better for keeping the contents hidden from view before tossing the tied bag into a trash can.

There are the Dura bags that can be used for dog poop pick-up I mentioned above.

And economical option of the usual sized bags.
