Board-and-Train Puppy Dog Training
Today I wanted to share a cute comic as so many of us take our role as dog parents seriously, as well we should. Bringing up a dog, whether a dog that’s a rescue and already into adulthood and may not have had dog training or enough dog training prior to his adoption, or a puppy, or even a senior, is important work. Bravo to all of you who do that!

Hallie Holland2024-03-04I reached out to Helen regarding training my puppy, Poppy, for help with crate training. From the very beginning Helen was very accommodating and understanding about my schedule as a student in grad school, and she went out of her way to help. Poppy was with Helen for a week, and throughout the week she loved Poppy as one of her own and sent me updates of her progress. Now Poppy does amazing in her crate, and I am very grateful for Helen.
Crystal Montfort2024-01-22I had reached out to Helen two years ago with my first puppy and ended up just going through with the necessary training myself. I picked up my 2nd furbaby in Dec 2023 in which the breeder said the puppy was being exposed to crate. Jokes on me, got her home and she was glued to my hip and wouldn't stop barking! Because I work full time and live in an apartment building, I immediately reached out to Helen who really was a savior! I was able to bring Gracie to her immediately to help her work through the crate training. For two weeks, she constantly provided videos/photos/emails on Gracie. She taught my baby how to sit and walk on the leash. She advised me on how to set up the ex pen in my home, things to buy, how to keep working with her once I got home. Gracie has now been home for almost a month and I am able to go to work comfortably knowing Gracie finally enjoys her ex pen/crate. I have even reached out to Helen after she's already been home with more questions and Helen answered every single question. I am extremely happy with the outcome and I do not know where I would be without her! Gracie and myself say Thank You! Highly recommend!
Kelly Ludwig2023-12-14After looking into various board and train facilities from Naples to Miami to Orlando, I came across Helen at Love Wags a Tail Dog Training. From the start she was very informative and gave me confidence in her skills through communication and videos! Bee was with her for 2 weeks and I am truly amazed at what Helen can do in a short time and of course keeping up the training she started! I would recommend Helen to anyone looking to board or train or both for your pup! I think Bee truly loved her and respected her, even if Bee is a bit rascally sometimes! True "Doodle". s b2023-09-12We took our 8 month old Mini Australian Shepherd, Eli, to Helen for a board & train session. We liked her approach to training using positive reinforcement. Helen was fantastic about sending us videos of her work with Eli. Now that he is home, we can see that he is much improved in his response to commands such as “come”, “drop it”, and “leave it”. We had not crate trained Eli but Helen was able to get him comfortable in his crate. Most notably, when I picked Eli up, I could tell that he really liked Helen. When I re-watch the training videos that Helen sent us, Eli will hear her voice and come running. I would highly recommend Helen & Love Wags A Tail!
Audra Forteza2023-09-11Helen is absolutely awesome, you can tell she loves the dogs as her own and is very invested in their current and future training. We sent our 7 month old pup for some obedience to include not rushing the door, not tripping us on walks, recall, and listening when we tell him “off” the couch. Throughout his 2 week training Helen sent videos describing and demonstrating training and kept us well updated on progress. Upon pickup, she answered all questions and demo’d whatever we asked. Helen laid the foundation for our pup’s training and gave us all the tools we needed to continue his training at home. Since we got him home he’s been wonderful! There’s some adjustment as he went from training to home environment but Helen has answered any and all questions we had post training and helped us identify some at-home issues we needed to work on. Since Helen has worked with him, he’s been much easier to correct while at home. I highly recommend love wags a tail for all your training needs!

I have already recommended her to all of my friends looking for trainers. She was very responsive and sent tons of videos of the training she was giving my dog so we can continue the training at home.
Mervi Pänkäläinen2023-08-15Our sweet little silver Labrador Emma, 5 months, had got used to some naughty behaviors like nipping and biting, sitting on the sofa and counter surfing. She is a smart puppy and after interviewing a lot of trainers, we were very impressed with Helen and her methods of positive reinforcement. During the boarding and training Helen kept us 100% informed with cute and informative videos and long emails with loads of valuable tips and tricks. However, when we brought Emma home, we saw the real impact. She very rarely nips anymore. We have a powerful cue word for all naughty behavior, and it really works. We all learnt a process to follow – naughty actions have consequences – and it’s been fun to watch how Emma’s brain clearly calculate this all together 😊 Helen is amazing and I have been already recommending her to all my friends!
Claire Smith2023-07-15We sent a bitey, jumpy stubborn puppy to Helen for 2 weeks and he came back “unbitey” much less jumpy and with amazing recall which is what we were most concerned about living in a busy traffic area. He even learnt a couple of tricks to boot! We would highly recommend Helen.

Jennifer Flaa2023-06-07Helen did a great job. I brought Niko & Cocomo in with barking issues. After Hurricane Ian they did not do well in an apartment in the city. Helen worked with them during a board and train stay. They are soooo very much improved. She also worked with them on Down (Niko has 3 legs and wasn't fond of that command) but she got it worked out. Cocomo also does this little talking thing and she got her to do it on command. I highly recommend Helen as both a trainer & a dog boarder. She sent pics during the stay and the dogs looked so happy. She also created videos of training stuff to buy to help me and also "how to" vids for the commands. Big thanks to Helen for helping the pups over the barking hurdle!
